Hi Nate! First of all, I'd like to welcome you to DA. Hope you have a lot of fun here.
As far as the 'devious thought' I use it to communicate with you in general, for example - like the above. If someone 'favorites' your work, then you'd say 'thanks' on this same column on that person's page, or in the deviation page - whatever that works for you. If you have people watching your work, the Journal will be the best bet to share your thoughts with everyone. Good luck!
